Computing vs non-computing postings in the high-pay band
- What it is
- Two linked analyses: job postings, comparing computing with other roles; and Singapore graduate outcomes joined with Ministry of Manpower employment and retrenchment series.
- What I did
- I merged the posting files into one table, normalised salaries across currencies and pay periods, mapped fields of study to occupations and industries as a stated proxy, and removed a 2012 salary scaling anomaly instead of letting it skew the story.
- Result
- Computing roles pay higher and allow remote work twice as often (23.6% vs 11.8%) but have a smaller junior share. On the graduate side, strong pay or employability did not guarantee stable demand or lower retrenchment risk.
